Galaxy Club emerged champions in the 1st Kartik Behera-Kartik Das (KBKD) Memorial Football Tournament, defeating ASGA, Kishan Nagar in the final at Bidanasi ground here today. Sekih Zahid was adjudged the man of the match.
Earlier in the semifinals, Galaxy Club beat Mangala Club by 6-5 goals in tie-breaker, while ASGA, Kishan Nagar got the better of OUFC by 5-2 goals also in tie-breaker. The tournament was organized by Maa Bhuasuni Club.
Cuttack Barabati MLA Debashish Samantaray graced closing function as chief guest and handed over the trophy and prizes. The champions ream received a cash prize of Rs 15,000.
